In principle, Weight Doctors® GLP-1 medication used is well tolerated. This is because, as with all preparations, undesirable side effects can occur, which according to studies are observed in around 10% of patients. The most common side effects and risks are
- Nausea: A common side effect is nausea. This can be mild or severe and may occur in the first few weeks of treatment.
- Vomiting: Appetite suppressants can also cause vomiting, especially in the first few weeks of treatment.
- Diarrhea: Another common effect is diarrhea.
- Constipation: Constipation may also occur, especially if the preparation is not taken as prescribed.
- Abdominal pain: Some patients report abdominal pain or stomach cramps while taking our active ingredients.
- Loss of appetite: Our therapy can also lead to a loss of appetite, which can contribute to weight loss.
- Dizziness: Some people may experience dizziness or lightheadedness when taking hormonal appetite suppressants.
- Hypoglycemia: GLP-1 modifying appetite suppressants may increase the risk of low blood sugar, especially in people with diabetes who are taking insulin or other blood sugar lowering medications.
- Gallstones: In some cases, long-term use may increase the risk of gallstones.
- Pancreatitis: Although rare, the risk of pancreatitis (an inflammation of the pancreas) may also be increased.
- The possible increased risk of appetite suppressants that modify the hormone GLP-1 on the thyroid gland has not yet been proven. Investigations are ongoing and the Weight Doctors are constantly monitoring the research results.
Note: Many of these side effects are not caused by the product itself, but by secondary effects. Vomiting or diarrhea, for example, can lead to dehydration, which manifests itself as headaches or fatigue. It is important that you continue to drink sufficient fluids and eat regular, balanced meals while taking appetite suppressants.
It is also important that patients are aware that there may be other risks and side effects that are not included in this list. Before Weight Doctors® GLP-1 recommends that you take one of our medication, a two-stage consultation and education approach with our patient advisors and medical specialists is required.
If you are affected by any of the side effects mentioned above, the Weight Doctors are of course there for you. Give us a call, contact us via chat message or send us an email and we can advise you on the best course of action to relieve your symptoms or arrange a follow-up appointment with your treating specialist. We will then check your dosage again and, if necessary, adjust your treatment plan according to your descriptions.
However, if your side effects are acute or you have symptoms of a severe allergic reaction (such as swelling of the face, lips or throat, difficulty breathing or swallowing or a rapid heartbeat), we strongly advise you to seek immediate medical attention from your GP or the nearest emergency room.
